On the 12 of November, the EU SME Centre participated in the First China-CEEC SME Cooperation Forum, which took place in Changzhou. Building upon the commitments made during the 16+1 Summit in Bulgaria this summer, this initiative was launched in order to strengthen cooperation between Central Eastern European and Chinese small businesses.
Among the main participants to the Fair, there were representatives from the Hebei and Changzhou Government such as Hebei Vice Governor Xia Yanjun, as well as the Vice Director for the Department of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of MIIT. From the European side, attendees included high-level representatives from the Embassies of the Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia and Slovakia among others.
Ms Ester Cañada Amela gave an introduction to the EU SME Centre and its activities, highlighting the cooperation the Centre had had in the past with CEEC stakeholders.
